Honda Marine welcomes master level technicians

ELEVEN Honda Marine technicians have become Australia’s first Master Level Technicians, following their completion of the Honda Certified Technician (HCT) training program last month.

The technicians are from Honda Marine dealers all over the country: NSW – Callaghans Marine Service, Mansfields Boatharbour Marine; QLD – GD Marine Services, Keppel Outdoor Products, Shane Morrison Marine; SA – Sports Marine, O’Halloran AgMarine, The Marina Hindmarsh Island; TAS – Maynes Marine; WA – Red Dirt Marine.

Honda Australia marine manager Robert Johnson said the master technician qualification was the highest available within Honda.

“Understanding that most technicians are academically-qualified and have years of experience, the HCT program is specifically designed for Honda’s world-leading advancements in technology and products,” Johnson said.

“As the first Master Level Technicians in Australia, these people are great assets to their respective dealerships and to Honda Australia.

“They’ve set a new standard to which all marine technicians should aspire.”

Comprising three levels – Certified, Advanced and Master – the HCT program is an in-depth training course designed for motorcycle, power equipment and marine service technicians within Honda’s national dealer network.

Training covers all facets of repair and diagnostic procedures and aims to assist technicians to make correct diagnostic decisions in a timely manner.
