Rosehill Boat Show back in March

SYDNEY’S Rosehill Boat Show will this year take place on the weekend of 17 to 18 of March.

The ninth staging of the show will feature more than 50 exhibitors, among them the leading marine retailers and distributors from many areas across NSW. With its usual free admission, free parking appeal, the show will again expect in excess of 11,000 visitors over the three-days.

The show began as the Great Silverwater Boat Show and was held at Silverwater Park, not far from Rosehill. However, being totally outdoors, it was at times hampered by inclement weather and a churned up grassed area making move in and move out as difficult as it was unpalatable for visitors.

Show organiser the Boating Industry Association (BIA) of NSW said the exhibition had proven itself on two major fronts: It has become an ideal platform for exhibitors to clear their showrooms; and is now recognised as a bargain hunter’s paradise by show visitors.

“The Rosehill show was planned originally as an outlet for dealerships to clear their decks in readiness for expected new stock for the 2012/2013 summer period,” said BIA marketing and event manager Domenic Genua.

“Because this has remained the primary aim of the show, boating enthusiasts are only too well aware that it is the place to achieve value for money, whether the shopping list includes a new boat, engine, boat trailer or similar,” he said.

Product on display at Rosehill will comprise new water ski and specialist fishing boats, all manner of small rigs such as canoes, kayaks and inflatable craft, marine engines, electronics and fishing tackle.

Necessary paperwork, such as insurance inquiries and attending to boat licences and registration can also be handled at the show, with Club Marine and NSW Maritime both hosting informative exhibits.

Always striving to add appeal to the show, the BIA this year has added a “Kid’s Zone” aimed at offering a prime attraction to the younger generation.

Stay tuned for further updates.
